No Dreams Deferred
Variable Content
Purpose: No Dreams Deferred is a spoken word collective. Its objective is to share the power of expression, prepare students to perform for our annual open mic, and to represent Stockton on the national stage, within Brave New Voices.
The name “No Dreams Deferred” was derived from the poem, “Dream Deferred,” by Langston Hughes, an African-American poet. The poem describes the possibilities of what could happen to a dream if it is deferred; deferred meaning, put off until a later date.
The club want its member to reach their full potential and to be able to recreate their dreams, without anything getting in their way. The main theme of this club is to have dreams, hopes, and plans through the use of poetry.
