Kristina Hardison

On-Site Substitute Teacher

Kristina N. Hardison serves as a long-term guest teacher for Langston Hughes Academy. Although she is a Chicago native her family relocated to Sacramento, CA when she was a child. Hardison later attended the California State University of Los Angeles where she earned a BA in Political Science with a concentration in Legal Studies. Afterwards, she completed two years of Americorps service with Teach for America for the Capital Central Valley region. Nonetheless prior to her transition to Aspire Public Schools she served as a secondary math teacher with Stockton Unified School District for three years. As a minority woman and product of a low-income community, she believes that if education truly is the great equalizer then it is important to educate the entire student (academically, culturally, and critically) to support student academic and personal development. Appropriately, she enjoys using real-world application in the classroom to explore various relevant topics and current social events while teaching and reinforcing mathematical reasoning, independent problem-solving skills, and procedural fluency.
