Lenaya Arzate Williams

Lenaya Arzate is a Chemistry and Biology teacher at Aspire Langston Hughes Academy in Stockton, Ca. Arzate has been in science education since 2011. She began her educational journey as an outdoor school naturalist, teaching science to various 5th/6th grade classes. After graduating from college, Arzate joined the Aspire teacher Residency in 2015 where she Co-taught with Ms. Tanja at Langston Hughes Academy. The next year, she then started teaching Chemistry and Biology at LHA. Arzate is also the Varsity Girls’ volleyball coach and Langston Hughes Academy.

Arzate holds two BA degrees from California Lutheran University in Chemistry and Environmental Science, and a MA in Curriculum and Instruction from University of the Pacific. She loves teaching high school science and hopes to continue to make science fun and accessible for all of her students.

Arzate lives with her fiance and new baby. For fun, she likes to spend time with her family traveling, hiking, and finding delicious new places to eat.
